Weight Gain, Weight Loss, and Organic Food Diets

It often doesn't take a scale to show that people in North America may be gaining weight, and it doesn't take a nutritionalist to point out that part of the reason may include convenience foods such as fast foods and prepackaged snack foods tha are high in sugary carbohydrates, fattening fat, or which are simply too quickly consumed in exchange for too little exercise.  Food processing pre-masticates our food ensuring that sugars enter the bloodstream faster resulting in a higher blood sugar and higher insulin which encourages the body to produce fat. And extra fat is a visible sign that you are running a metabolic surplus.

One must ask why such a hurried approach to eating is being used, when not giving things their time is a form of rushing and is a stressful way to live. Stress has been associated with the production of cortisol, another hormone which contributes to the human body's propensity to accumulate savings of energy in the form of fat.

There is a sense of care, personal responsibility, and deliberateness that leads to the selection of organic foods, on the other hand, which leads to cleaner and more wholesome nutrients entering the body.  In addition, meals are usually prepared just in advance of consumption, and the act of selecting and preparing the food is one which burns calories while creating personal stress-reducing time.  This leads to less cortisol, lower blood sugar levels, lower insulin, lower overall consumption of calories, and therefore a lowering or reversing of the accumulation of fat.
